Beavers 6-8

The youngest section at which your child can join the UK Scouting Movement. Known as a 'Colony' which is then further broken down into 'Dens'. Meeting  on Tuesdays usually at Kipling Hall (Rembrandt Drive) between 1700 till 1815 with the occasional 'field trips' visiting local the local fire station or care home for example. 

With the opportunity to gain up to 22 activity badges that help towards gaining some of the 6 challenge badges Beavers is always a great place to start your scouting experience.15 other staged badges are also available. These are carried over to the next section.

Once all of the challenge badges have been obtained and at least 4 Activity/Staged badges completed, the highest award to be gained by a Beaver can be awarded, this being the Chief Scouts Bronze Award. 

At the age of 8 your child will 'Move on' to the Cub section. A ceromoney will take place where they will swim up into cubs and officaly become part of the Cub section.
