Cub five a side

A very BIG well done to the Cub 5 a side team who finished as very creditable runners up in the district 5 a side competition held at Hopehill on 26th June. Our squad comprised of Cian, Freddie, Fin, Tommy, Callum, Riley,Sebastian and Sammy manged brilliantly by Ben Bullock.

We didn't get of to the best of starts losing 4 - 0 to Windmill Hill, but turned the tide in our next match winning 5-0 against Meopham B. We then waited for other results before finding out that we had made it through to the semi-final where we would face Windmill Hill again. Having gone 1-0 up we then found ourselves 2-1 down before a penalty levelled the scores again. Our match winning goal came late in the second half and after a tense couple of minutes we were through to the final!
We put up a good fight for much of the first half but having gone a goal down Meopham powered ahead and finished worth winners.
It was good to see all our squad involved through the 'rolling subs' system and they continued to do their best right up to the final whistle.
